Aces bring end to 51s’ win streak
The 51s lost to the host Reno Aces 4-3 on Tuesday night in a Pacific Coast League game, halting Las Vegas' season-best four-game winning streak.
Reno led 4-2 entering the ninth inning, and the 51s tried to get a rally going. Mike McCoy led off with a single, but was forced on Adeiny Hechavarria's grounder. Anthony Gose then drew a walk to put runners at first and second.
David Cooper's single to right field scored Hechavarria, but Gose was thrown out at third. Travis d'Arnaud's grounder forced Cooper at second to end the game.
McCoy had a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning for the 51s (10-16), who before the four-game win streak hadn't won more than two in a row in a dismal start to the season.
Taylor Harbin had a two-run homer for Reno in the sixth inning.
The in-state rivals play the third game of their four-game series at 6:35 p.m. today.
