Balanced Desert Pines boys top Canyon Springs

Pierre Jackson led five scorers in double figures with 20 points as Desert Pines' boys basketball team won 92-88 at Canyon Springs on Wednesday.

Michael Ball and C.J. Myles each added 14 points for the Jaguars.

Deremy Geiger led the Pioneers with 39 points and six assists. Antonio Snow added 27 points for Canyon Springs.

• Bishop Gorman 90, Western 62 -- At Gorman, John Loyd had 16 points, 10 assists and seven steals to lift the Gaels.

Quintin Dailey added 17 points and Blake Moore 16 for Gorman. Kentrell Young led the Warriors with 19 points.

• Eldorado 86, Las Vegas 63 -- At Eldorado, Curtis Malone had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lift the Sundevils.

Willie Bell added 20 points for Eldorado. Marvin Campbell led all scorers with 29 points for the Wildcats.

• Spring Valley 69, Bonanza 58 -- At Bonanza, Spring Valley outscored the Bengals 43-21 in the first half as they cruised to the victory.

Tenacious Gibson led the Grizzlies with 18 points. Matt Andrews scored 16 points for Bonanza.

• Valley 65, Rancho 45 -- At Rancho, Terrence Tatum and Cordero Harris each had 16 points to lead the Vikings.

David Michaels added 12 points for Valley.

• Durango 46, Sierra Vista 43 -- At Durango, Jamal Crook scored 20 points as the Trailblazers squeaked out the win.

Ron Barnes grabbed 10 rebounds for Durango. Akeem Smith and Josh McClain each scored 13 points for the Lions.

GIRLS

• Eldorado 48, Las Vegas 42 -- At Eldorado, Princess Jervis had 12 points and 13 rebounds to help the Sundevils nip Las Vegas.

Tonisha McGee added 10 points and 12 rebounds for Eldorado. Emily Turkington had 14 points for the Wildcats.

• Bonanza 75, Spring Valley 15 -- At Bonanza, Terra Novak led four scorers in double figures with 16 points as the Bengals trounced the Grizzlies.

Christin Figgins had 11 points and 11 assists and Asta Galaviz nine points and 14 rebounds for Bonanza, which led 44-7 at halftime.

• Durango 60, Sierra Vista 47 -- At Durango, Mia Bell scored 23 points and Lindy La Rocque 20 as the Trailblazers defeated the Lions.

Kristen Gaines added 15 rebounds for Durango. Brianna Tolliver led Sierra Vista with 22 points.

• Desert Pines 47, Canyon Springs 26 -- At Canyon Springs, LaBrea Walker scored 15 points as the Jaguars improved to 7-0 in the Northeast Division by beating the Pioneers.

Clarissa Davis added 11 points for Desert Pines.

• Valley 42, Rancho 36 -- At Rancho, Valley outscored the Rams 17-7 in the fourth quarter to rally for the win.

Vanessa Corona led the Vikings with 26 points. Khalia Branch and Yesica Jackson each scored 10 points for Rancho.

• Green Valley 70, Faith Lutheran 38 -- At Green Valley, Victoria Naylor scored 19 points as the Gators rolled.

Meghann Smith led the Crusaders with 14 points.

• Bishop Gorman 84, Western 45 -- At Bishop Gorman, Aaryn Ellenberg scored 21 points to lead four Gorman scorers in double figures as the Gaels rolled over Western.

Yahindra Edwards added 17 points for Gorman, and Western's Derricka Glover scored 16 points.
