Nance steal, dunk with three seconds left send Wyoming past New Mexico

LARAMIE, Wyo. — Larry Nance Jr.’s dunk with three seconds left after making a steal gave Wyoming a 63-62 overtime victory over New Mexico on Saturday.
Nance finished with 23 points and Josh Adams 20 for the conference-leading Cowboys (17-3, 6-1 Mountain West). They scored the team’s final 16 points.
Adams was fouled shooting a 3-pointer and hit three free throws to tie the score at 54 with nine seconds left in regulation. New Mexico’s Hugh Greenwood then missed a jumper to send the game into overtime.
The Lobos (13-7, 5-3) led by five in overtime but didn’t score in the final 1:13. They were led by Greenwood, who hit five 3-pointers and scored 23 points.
■ Colorado State 79, San Diego State 73 — At Fort Collins, Colo., J.J. Avila hit 12 of 16 shots and scored a season-high 29 points to spark the Rams (18-2, 5-2 MW) over the Aztecs (15-5, 5-2).
A 3-pointer by Stanton Kidd with 9:40 left gave Colorado State a 65-55 lead. A 17-8 run pulled San Diego State within 73-72 with four minutes left, but the Aztecs went 0-for-5 from the field and 1-for-4 from the free-throw line the rest of the way.
Malik Pope led San Diego State with a career-high 22 points.
■ Fresno State 66, UNR 62 — At Fresno, Calif., Paul Watson had 18 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Bulldogs (10-10, 5-2 MW) past the Wolf Pack (6-12, 2-4).
The game featured two ties and three lead changes in the final five minutes, the last coming with 2:37 left when Fresno State’s Cezar Guerrero hit two free throws to give the Bulldogs a 58-57 lead.
Eric Cooper Jr. scored 20 and Tyron Criswell 19 for UNR.
■ Boise State 77, Air Force 68 — At Colorado Springs, Colo., Derrick Marks had 28 points, and Nick Duncan scored a career-high 20 to lead the Broncos (14-6, 4-3 MW) past the Falcons (8-11, 1-7). Marek Olesinski had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Air Force.
