Bees’ offense explodes in win over 51s
The 51s allowed 10 runs in the first three innings and couldn't come back with enough offense of their own in an 11-7 Pacific Coast League loss to the host Salt Lake Bees on Saturday night.
Salt Lake (74-67) scored seven runs in the second inning, including two-run doubles from Juan Rivera and Gregory Porter, then got a Tommy Murphy two-run homer in the third to take a 10-4 lead.
The 51s (65-77) got a two-run double from Delwyn Young in the fourth and an Octavio Martinez RBI single in the fifth, but that was as close as they would get.
Las Vegas jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, with Young and John Lindsey notching RBI singles, and Tony Abreu had a run-scoring single in the second inning.
