Horse Racing: Today at Los Alamitos, December 11
December 10, 2014 - 8:22 pm
Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $26,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
1 Brannaman - Bob Baffert is doing his part to support Los Alamitos racing; this guy has early speed from the rail.
4 Too Fast to Pass - Rafael Bejarano has been riding a lot this meet; you know he still gets his pick of the litter.
Long Shot - 5 Fighting On
Race 2 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
9 Sindys Luck - Did everything but win in a well meant career debut; may lose value with hot riding Tyler Baze up.
10 Justonemorething - Showed solid improvement in his second career start; don’t mind the parking lot post to clock the early speed.
Long Shot - 7 Just Let It Slide
Race 3 - 6 furlongs, Purse $30,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds
5 Desert Thief - Was clearly overmatched last time out; she races a group similar to her victory race two back.
6 Singing Kitty - Taking a huge class drop to face much easier;like the way Tyler Baze has been riding of late.
Long Shot - 2 Take Back Spring
Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $42,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds and up
2 Bernster - Been away 3-years, have to trust the clockers that he is ready to fire; like I said before, Bob Baffert is supporting Los Al.
4 Bellamy Concerto - Richard Mandella rarely fires first time out; been away since April, but gets the HOF Gary Stevens up.
Long Shot - 8 Logan’s Moon
Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $16,000, Claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Pursuitofparadise - Won first off the claim by A.C. Avila; has enough back class where a repeat race is possible.
4 Adellusion - Sliding down the claiming ladder to this career low class; key vote for me is Rafael Bejarano staying loyal.
Long Shot - 3 To B a Noitted
Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $42,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 2-year-olds
4 Tension - FTS from the Bob Baffert barn; is a full sister to Tiz Midnight who just won at Los Alamitos last week.
1 Dyna Star - The maestro Jerry Hollendorfer would like nothing better than to beat Bob Baffert; moves forward with experience.
Long Shot - 10 Penny N Mitzi
Race 7 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $46,000, Optional claiming $40,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
5 Sweet Marini - More Bob Baffert love on this card; if things work out, he could win 3 or 4 races tonight.
4 Unforgettable U - Ambitiously placed in a stakes last out after a sharp MSW win; regroups in this much softer spot tonight.
Long Shot - 2 Twelve Folds
Race 8 - 6 furlongs, Purse $17,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds and up
7 Aperfectdaytofly - Sliding down the maiden claiming ladder to this bottom rung; if he doesn’t win here, it may be Arizona for him.
5 Cernobbio - Has had plenty of chances, but none this cheap; has shown tactical speed to sit a decent trip throughout.
Long Shot - 4 Go Goldie Go
Best Bet - 4 Tension (race 6)
Los Alamitos Sunday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 16/5/$25.80; Long Shots, 8/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/0/$0
