• Jon Lester flashed his dominant form in his last start, when he held Tampa Bay to one run on three hits and had eight strikeouts in seven innings. The Red Sox left-hander has owned the Royals in his career, going 4-1 with a 1.28 ERA. Boston should give Lester plenty of support against struggling Kansas City starter Danny Duffy, who allowed eight runs in three innings to the Yankees on Tuesday en route to his third straight loss. He was roughed up by the Red Sox earlier this year.
