■ Cubs left-hander Travis Wood is legit, but he’s at a slight disadvantage in this matchup. The numbers for Adam Wainwright in his past three starts (24 innings, 17 hits, six runs, 20 strikeouts, four walks) represent what he’s done all season for St. Louis. Wainwright is 8-1 on the road and the Cardinals are seeking a series split at Wrigley going into the All-Star break.
