Bigbie, Freeman spark 51s’ win over Nashville

Back-to-back doubles broke a tie in the ninth inning and lifted the 51s to a 4-3 Pacific Coast League victory over the Nashville Sounds on Monday night in Nashville, Tenn.

With one out and the game tied at 3, Larry Bigbie doubled to center field off Nashville reliever Joe Thatcher. Choo Freeman followed with another double to center to score Bigbie.

Reliever Matt Riley (1-0) then closed it out for Las Vegas (24-27) with two strikeouts and a flyout in the bottom of the ninth.

The 51s scored twice in the sixth inning, on a James Loney single and a Mitch Jones groundout. Bigbie also had an RBI groundout in the second.
