Two boxers on May 4 MGM card test positive for diuretics

Boxers J’Leon Love and Matt Garretson tested positive for diuretics after their May 4 fights at the MGM Grand Garden, the Nevada Athletic Commission announced Wednesday.

Love, who won a 10-round split decision over Gabriel Rosado for the vacant NABF middleweight title, tested positive for Hydrochlorothiazide. Garretson, who was stopped in the fourth round of his super middleweight bout by Lanell Bellows, tested positive for Furosemide.

Both fighters will be temporarily suspended pending a disciplinary hearing. All other fighters on the card, which featured Floyd Mayweather Jr. retaining his WBC welterweight title against Robert Guerrero, tested negative.
