Brooks gives lift to Valley
Valley's Johnquez Brooks made 5 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter Monday to help the Vikings earn a 70-68 road victory over Las Vegas.
Brooks, a junior, finished with 11 points, hitting 8-for-10 from the line. Deante Jones had 16 points and 18 rebounds for the Vikings, who trailed by nine in the third quarter.
Tony Eackles scored 28 points to lead Las Vegas.
• Bishop Gorman 82, Spring Valley 76 -- At Gorman, Czar Robotham scored 10 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Gaels rallied to beat the Grizzlies.
Gorman led 40-24 at halftime, but Spring Valley stormed back and entered the final quarter with a 52-49 lead.
Robotham and Quintin Dailey each made two 3-pointers during Gorman's fourth-quarter surge. The Gaels finished with 10 3-pointers.
Jordan Hill added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Gaels. Jesse Chippoletti led Spring Valley with 19 points.
• Bonanza 61, Clark 42 -- At Clark, Jordan Johnson scored 15 points, and the Bengals used a 19-8 second-quarter edge to pull away from the Chargers.
Tomo Delp added 14 points and Landry Peterson scored 12 for Bonanza.
Isidro Garcia and Dimarko Shoulders each scored 15 points to lead Clark.
• Western 75, Sierra Vista 62 -- At Western, Johnny Diggs had 22 points and nine assists to help the Warriors, who built a 37-25 halftime lead.
Zach Fowler added 19 points for Western, and Phillip Payne had 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Josh McLain led Sierra Vista with 16 points.
• Desert Pines 80, Chaparral 62 -- At Desert Pines, Clifford Harrell led all scorers with 22 points as the Jaguars pulled away in the second half.
C.J. Myles added 15 points and Reggie Shaw scored 13 for Desert Pines.
Chris McCraney paced the Cowboys with 19 points.
GIRLS
• Bonanza 78, Clark 25 -- At Clark, Terra Novak led five scorers in double figures with 20 points for the Bengals.
Christin Figgins added 15 points. Jill Gentile and Aimee Doyle had 11 each, and Asta Galaviz scored 10 for Bonanza.
Chantelle Robinson led the Chargers with seven points.
• Sierra Vista 70, Western 51 -- At Western, Brea Foster led all scorers with 21 points, and the Lions bolted to a 35-16 halftime lead.
Jessica Mojica added 16 points for Sierra Vista, and Jeannette Jackson scored 15.
Destiny Whitehead paced the Warriors with 19 points, and Josie Morales added 11.
• Eldorado 49, Rancho 38 -- At Rancho, Tonisha McGee had 16 points and Princess Jervis scored 15 to lead the Sundevils past the Rams.
Khalia Branch scored 10 points for Rancho, and Stephanie Thompson and Aisha Momodu grabbed 14 and 13 rebounds, respectively.
• Desert Pines 74, Chaparral 35 -- At Desert Pines, Clarissa Davis scored 19 points, and the Jaguars sprinted to a 42-15 halftime lead to win easily.
Rozie Bell added 12 points and Ashley Flemming scored 10 for Desert Pines, while Andrea Jefferson had 12 rebounds and LeBrea Walker dealt 10 assists.
• Bishop Gorman 67, Spring Valley 18 -- At Gorman, the Gaels gained a 48-2 halftime lead and coasted to victory.
Darriel Gaynor scored 22 points to lead Gorman, which led 27-2 after the first quarter. Aaryn Ellenberg added 12 points for the Gaels.
• Mountain View 56, Virgin Valley 47 -- At Mountain View, Randall Van Kempen had 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Saints.
Ellie Markwardt added 18 points for Mountain View.
Courtney Spawn scored 19 points for the Bulldogs.
