BYU forges three-way tie atop MWC

LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Lee Cummard scored 24 points, and Brigham Young rallied in the second half to defeat Wyoming 78-68 on Wednesday.

Jonathan Tavernari added 19 points and Jimmer Fredette 15 as the Cougars (23-6) created a three-way tie for the Mountain West lead with Utah and New Mexico at 11-4.

The regular season ends Saturday with BYU hosting Air Force, Utah hosting Texas Christian and New Mexico visiting Wyoming.

BYU trailed 40-35 at halftime but outscored Wyoming 21-8 in the final eight minutes.

Sean Ogirri scored 25 points to lead Wyoming (18-11, 7-8).

• San Diego State 68, Colorado State 59 -- At San Diego, Tim Shelton and Ryan Amoroso scored 14 points each, leading the Aztecs (20-8, 10-5) past the Rams (9-21, 4-12).

Kyle Spain had 10 points for San Diego State, which will host UNLV at 7 p.m. Saturday.
