Centennial defeats Cimarron in boys volleyball

Jeff Mechum had 52 assists Friday to help Centennial's boys volleyball team to a 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-13 win over host Cimarron-Memorial.

Spencer Olsen had 19 kills and Drew Smith 18 kills for the Bulldogs.

Dustin Larsen had 22 kills, 14 digs and two blocks, and Robert Watkins had 34 assists, eight digs and six kills to lead the Spartans.

• Basic 3, Tech 0 -- At Basic, Michael Lunen had 10 kills, and Eddie Castillo had eight kills and three blocks to lead the Wolves past the Roadrunners, 25-11, 25-17, 25-15.

Anthony Gambone had 28 assists for Basic.

• Green Valley 3, Liberty 0 -- At Liberty, Cameron Olsen had 13 kills and three aces to lead the Gators past the Patriots, 25-13, 25-14, 25-19.

Chris Mortenson helped Green Valley with nine kills, and teammate Taylor Mitchell had 29 assists, three aces and two kills.

Paul Acluba led Liberty with 10 assists.

• Rancho 3, Eldorado 0 -- At Rancho, Kevin Wadsworth had 23 assists, and Steve Cuevas had 13 digs and four aces to lead the Rams over the Sundevils, 25-12, 25-9, 25-14.

• Coronado 3, Del Sol 0 -- At Coronado, Bryan Arana had three kills and three digs, and Cory Argubright had seven digs and two aces to lead the Cougars over the Dragons, 25-22, 25-12, 25-17.

Eric Boman added eight kills for Coronado.

• Arbor View 3, Legacy 0 -- At Arbor View, Matt Ward had 28 assists to lead the Aggies to a 25-14, 25-13, 25-16 win over the Longhorns.

Zac Reese added 10 kills and three aces for Arbor View, and teammate Ray Lewis had eight kills.

Steven Leavitt had 15 assists, and Ethan Ewing added five kills for Legacy.

• Shadow Ridge 3, Cheyenne 0 -- At Cheyenne, Preston Simper had 15 kills, eight blocks and five aces as the Mustangs swept the Desert Shields, 25-4, 25-11, 25-20.

Todd Corbett added 15 digs and four aces, and Jeremy Makaiwi had 22 assists for Shadow Ridge.

Ervin Leu had three kills for Cheyenne.

• Palo Verde 3, Mojave 0 -- At Palo Verde, Adam Nieman had 25 assists to help the Panthers beat the Rattlers, 25-13, 25-18, 25-15.

Clayton Worthen had nine kills, and Tyler Capko had seven aces for Palo Verde.

Tony Vaz had 10 kills and seven assists to lead Mojave.

• Silverado 3, Foothill 1 -- At Silverado, Nick McArthur-Reynolds had 17 assists and four aces to lead the Skyhawks past the Falcons, 25-13, 19-25, 25-14, 25-9.

Mike Mark had 10 kills and three blocks, and Trevik Jenkins added nine kills and eight digs for Silverado.

Walter Coe had six blocks and four kills to lead Foothill.
