Coleman, Gorman dominate

Kylel Coleman had 20 points and seven assists to lead Bishop Gorman to a 67-54 win over Mesa (Ariz.) in the Bishop Gorman Holiday Classic boys basketball tournament on Thursday.

Gorman (9-0) plays Reno in the semifinals at 8 p.m. today in a rematch of the 2006 state title game.

Blake Moore had 15 points and Quintin Dailey 10 rebounds for the Gaels.

Bishop O'Connell (Va.) 85, Foothill 67 -- At Gorman, Kendlal Marshall had 24 points to lead the Royals, who advanced to the tournament semifinals.

Earl Jones led scorers for the Falcons (7-3) with 14 points.

Spring Valley 61, Elko 56 -- At Gorman, Tenacious Gibson had 16 points to help the Grizzlies (6-2) hold off the Indians.

Ronnie Norsworthy added 15 points for Spring Valley. Elko's Stephen Klekas hit six 3-pointers en route to scoring a game-high 28 points.

Faith Lutheran 48, Bishop Timon (N.Y.) 38 -- At Gorman, Conner Maloney scored 10 points to lead the Crusaders.

Cimarron-Memorial 76, Legacy 68 -- At Cimarron, Mike Cutright scored 23 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter as the Spartans rallied to win.

Arthur Backer had 13 points, Tyler Tuliau 11 and Dale Puckett 10 for the Spartans, who outscored the Longhorns 29-19 in the fourth quarter.

Sonny Sandifer paced Legacy scorers with 17 points.

Palo Verde 53, Shadow Ridge 48 -- At Palo Verde, the Panthers squandered a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter but came back to win.

Moses Morgan had 18 points to lead Palo Verde scorers.

Zach Hafen, Tyler Marshall and Tavis Brown each had 11 points for the Mustangs.

Liberty 75, Silverado 67 -- At Liberty, Milos Knezevic had 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Patriots (7-2).

Cameron Peters added 22 points and seven assists for Liberty. Silverado's Ali Sabra led all scorers with 26 points.

Canyon Springs 87, Western 65 -- At Canyon Springs, Deremy Geiger had 12 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Pioneers (8-1).

Geiger also had six assists, and Juron Criner added 20 points and nine steals for Canyon Springs, which outscored the Warriors 55-37 in the second half.

Zach Fowler had 28 points and Melvin Washington 16 for Western.

Mojave 57, Centennial 47 -- At Centennial, Darian Norris went 11-for-12 on free throws and finished with 26 points to lead the Rattlers (11-1).

Anthony Marshall added 16 points for Mojave. Adam Young led Bulldogs scorers with 15 points.

Cheyenne 86, Arbor View 53 -- At Cheyenne, six players scored in double figures for the Desert Shields, who led 47-30 at halftime.

Demetric Williams scored 15 points and Elijah Johnson 13 to pace Cheyenne. Pierson Heath led Aggies scorers with 12 points.

Coronado 92, Tech 69 -- At Coronado, T.J. Knowles had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Cory Ford had 15 points and eight assists to lead the Cougars to victory.

Ronnie Weiss added 11 points for Coronado. Brandon Tiffany led Roadrunners scorers with 18 points.

Green Valley 74, Del Sol 43 -- At Del Sol, Cody Aughney scored 24 points and Julian Franklin 14 to lead the Gators over the Dragons.

Joe Maglaras led Del Sol scorers with 16 points.

Boyd Anderson (Fla.) 68, Lake Mead 55 -- At Henderson International, Boyd Anderson pulled away in the second half to win the Rock Holiday Classic.

Jared Dean had 15 points to lead scorers for the Eagles, who fell to 13-1.

Agassi Prep 71, Trinity 63 -- At Agassi Prep, Deshawn Battle and Tay Shephard each scored 19 points to lead Agassi Prep to victory.

Budweiser Hawkins had 17 points for Trinity.
