Collins, Schmidt lead charge as Skyhawks rally past Vikes
Shea Collins had 22 points to lead Silverado's girls basketball team to a 50-46 road win over Valley on Wednesday.
Collins hit 6 of 7 free throws in the fourth quarter. Jessica Schmidt added 20 points for the Skyhawks.
Vanessa Corona had 18 points for the Vikings, who led 27-12 at halftime.
• Desert Pines 52, Rancho 37-- At Rancho, Clarissa Davis had 21 points to help the Jaguars beat the Rams.
Ashley Flemming added 10 points for Desert Pines. Khalia Branch led Rancho with 19 points, and Shayna Porter-Banks scored 13.
• Las Vegas 46, Canyon Springs 29 -- At Canyon Springs, Amber Kelly led a balanced attack with nine points as the Wildcats downed the Pioneers.
Brianna Johnson and Jervaie Taylor each scored eight points for Las Vegas, which took a 16-4 lead after one quarter.
Canyon Springs' Daryl Coleman led all scorers with 13 points.
• Durango 66, Spring Valley 29 -- At Spring Valley, Lindy La Rocque had 19 points, and the Trailblazers sprinted to a 36-8 halftime advantage against the Grizzlies.
Mia Bell scored 17 points and Kristen Gaines 10 for Durango. C.C. Wimberly scored 11 for Spring Valley.
• Eldorado 52, Chaparral 44 -- At Chaparral, Princess Jervis had 14 points and Sabrina Evans 13 as the Sundevils pulled away from the Cowboys in the fourth quarter.
Amy Austin scored 10 for Chaparral, which trailed 35-32 entering the fourth quarter.
• Western 66, Clark 33 -- At Clark, Destiny Whitehead scored 13 points to help the Warriors defeat the Chargers.
Mekiala Simmons added 11 points for Western, which led 21-8 after one quarter. Joanne Umana scored 10 to lead the Chargers.
• Sierra Vista 65, Boulder City 23 -- At Sierra Vista, Johnie Pride led three Sierra Vista players in double figures with 12 points as the Lions beat the Eagles.
Teena Baxter scored 11 and Jeannette Jackson 10 for Sierra Vista, which led 19-4 after the first quarter.
