Do as he says, not as he does

Beleaguered actor Charlie Sheen temporarily left his home rehabilitation Thursday for yet another of his infamous group outings.

This time, it had nothing to do with alcohol or porn stars.

Sheen attended UCLA baseball practice and, according to celebrity gossip site TMZ, nearly belted a home run while hitting with the players.

The star of the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men" is a hard-core baseball fan and longtime friend of UCLA coach John Savage.

The 45-year-old Sheen, who starred as Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn in the movie "Major League" and was a standout pitcher and shortstop at Santa Monica (Calif.) High School, showed up with his own bat and took swings with several major league players, including Coco Crisp and Milton Bradley.

After practice, Savage asked Sheen to speak to the team about the importance of staying away from drugs.

The actor apparently said a few words and got a "standing ovation" from the players.

As for what he said to the team, NBC Sports Off the Bench blog published a tweet from sophomore catcher Richard Brehault.

" 'Don't do crack, drink chocolate milk, and enjoy every moment..thats all I got.'-Charlie Sheen. That's what he told our baseball team today," Brehault posted on his Twitter account.

Considering Sheen's propensity for enjoying every moment, whoever is in charge of the actor's rehab might want to start testing his chocolate milk.

■ SIMPLE ANSWER -- Did you ever wake up and just have to know right away whether the Cleveland Cavaliers ended their losing streak while you were sleeping?

Well, now you have a perfect site to set as your home page: Someone purchased the domain name "didthecavswinlastnight.com."

It had to be one of the Internet's simplest sites to maintain. Until Cleveland's 126-119 overtime win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday, visitors simply found a white page with large black letters reading "No."

From Dec. 20 until Friday, the Cavs were in the throes of a 26-game losing streak, matching the 1976-77 Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the longest skid in any of America's four major professional sports leagues.

At least we know Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert doesn't run the site. The "No" wasn't in comic sans font, and there was no derogatory mention of LeBron James.

The team could be poised to start a win streak. The Cavaliers host Washington on Sunday. The Wizards have yet to win a road game this season.

The NBA. It's Fan-Tastic.

■ BRIGHT FUTURE -- Washington State freshman Tracy Clark has been suspended from the football team after his arrest on charges he stole a laptop.

The 19-year-old cornerback allegedly stole the $1,100 computer from an open dorm room on campus.

Clark, who redshirted last season, was arrested when officers tracked the laptop's Internet use.

On the bright side, Clark's college career is far from over. He could go to a junior college, have his father open the recruiting process to the highest bidder, transfer to Auburn and win a Heisman Trophy.
