Ex-Desert Pines star Pierre Jackson sets NBA D-League scoring record with 58 points

BOISE, Idaho — Pierre Jackson, a former Desert Pines High School star, set an NBA Development League record when he scored 58 points in Idaho’s 136-122 victory over the Texas Legends on Tuesday night.

Jackson, who played at Baylor, was 24 of 33 from the field, including 7 of 13 from 3-point range. He also had eight assists and six rebounds.

The previous scoring record of 53 points was set by Morris Almond in 2008 and matched by Will Conroy in 2009.

It was Jackson’s seventh game this season with 40 or more points. He is averaging an NBADL-best 30.2 points.
