Fields, Kemp dominate in victory for UNR

RENO -- Brandon Fields had a career-high 29 points to lead UNR past New Mexico State 98-85 on Thursday night.

Marcelus Kemp added 27 points for the Wolf Pack

(18-10, 10-4 Western Athletic Conference). The victory leaves UNR alone in second place in the WAC, just ahead of New Mexico State (16-13, 9-4) and Utah State.

Justin Hawkins had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Jahmar Young 18 points for the Aggies, who had won five straight.

Fields, a 6-foot-4-inch sophomore, added nine rebounds for the Wolf Pack, which jumped to a 10-1 lead four minutes into the game and never trailed in taking a 47-35 lead into halftime.

A jumper by Kemp, who had 16 first-half points, gave UNR its biggest lead in the first 20 minutes at 41-23.
