Findlay Prep player headed to St. John’s
Amir Garrett, a 6-foot-6-inch senior swingman from Findlay Prep, signed to play college basketball at St. John's on Wednesday.
Garrett, who played at Sierra Vista High School as a sophomore before transferring to Leuzinger (Calif.), picked the Red Storm over Oregon.
"It was just a good fit for me," Garrett said. "Coach (Steve) Lavin is trying to bring the program around, and I'm a person who can help."
Garrett, who averaged 16.8 points and 7.2 rebounds last year at Leuzinger, is ranked as the No. 51 senior by Rivals.com.
