Firelein powers Gators past Skyhawks

Alicia Firelein hit two home runs Monday to lead Green Valley to a 10-1 road win over Silverado.

Firelein was 3-for-5 with a double and five RBIs. She also pitched a complete game to get the win, scattering eight hits and striking out five.

Breanna Yard was 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Jaqui Cappuccilli hit two doubles for the Gators, who had three three-run innings.

Silverado's Amanda Buchholz went 2-for-3.

Centennial 6, Arbor View 2 -- At Arbor View, Lindsay Konopelko's three-run double keyed a four-run fifth inning for the Bulldogs.

Centennial trailed 2-0 entering the fifth, but took the lead on Konopelko's double. Konopelko scored on an RBI single by Johnna Brown.

Konopelko finished 3-for-3 with three doubles. Alyssa Rampa added two hits, and Lauren Lynds threw four scoreless innings of relief to get the win. Lynds struck out seven and allowed one hit.

Palo Verde 13, Legacy 3 -- At Legacy, Erika Stratton went 3-for-3 with a double, triple and four RBIs to lead the Panthers to a five-inning win.

Lauryn Stover was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBIs for Palo Verde.

Shadow Ridge 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 -- At Shadow Ridge, Mandy Harmon tossed a one-hitter to help the Mustangs beat the Spartans and take sole possession of first place in the Northwest Division.

Harmon struck out six and allowed only a fourth-inning single for Shadow Ridge (11-0, 5-0 Northwest).

Jasmine Harris had a triple and RBI for Shadow Ridge.

Coronado 9, Basic 0 -- At Basic, Kim Makiri allowed six hits and one walk in shutting out the Wolves.

Bianca Query went 4-for-5 and hit a three-run homer to lead the Cougars' offense.

Morgan Yuhas and Sarah Detwiler each had two hits, two RBIs and a home run for Coronado, which scored seven runs in the third inning.

Liberty 15, Tech 2 -- At Tech, Carson Cooper was 3-for-3 with two doubles to lead the Patriots past the Roadrunners.

Robin Lowery allowed two runs on four hits to earn the victory. Liberty scored 10 runs in the third inning, and finished with 18 hits.

Reyna Villanueva had three of the four hits for Tech.

Foothill 20, Del Sol 0 -- At Del Sol, Shelbie Medrano tossed a one-hitter and allowed just two base runners as the Falcons routed the Dragons in five innings.

Medrano also went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Lakesha Guidry added a triple for Foothill.

Cheyenne 21, Mojave 8 -- At Mojave, the Desert Shields managed just five hits but were helped by seven Mojave errors en route to the victory over the Rattlers.

Mojave led 6-2 after one inning, but Cheyenne scored seven runs in the second to take the lead for good.
