FISHING REPORT

■ LAKE MEAD -- Fishing has been fair to slow, with anglers catching stripers in the Vegas Wash area. Trout scattered immediately after the trout plant at Boulder Harbor with only two reported in the creel. Callville Bay anglers also reported slow fishing.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Anglers report fair trout fishing at Willow Beach. Fishing is good immediately after the plant, as fish will scatter into deeper water. Fishing is poor to fair at Cottonwood Cove. Though several anglers reported having no luck, some have been successful, with two or three in the creel after a long day of fishing. One angler caught a few stripers from 4 to 9 pounds while trolling with a plug on one rod and an anchovy on another. Largemouth bass anglers report fair fishing with hardware south of the marina.

■ LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Trout were planted Tuesday at Floyd Lamb Park, Sunset Park, Lorenzi Park and Boulder City ponds. Anglers report good fishing at Sunset and Boulder City Pond and slow fishing at Lorenzi and Floyd Lamb. Fly fishing has been good at Boulder City Pond with dry flies.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Ice is unstable and deteriorating at Adams McGill, Cold Springs and Haymeadow reservoirs. Anglers can fish the open water on Dacey Reservoir, but fishing has been slow due to runoff and murky water. Due to wet and muddy and conditions, four-wheel drive is recommended on the management area. Call 775-238-0240.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Ice is 14 to 18 inches thick around the reservoir. But it is slushy on top, and park officials think the ice will be gone soon. Fishing pressure was slow last weekend due to recent rain and snow. Fish have been biting orange and green PowerBait and nightcrawlers with a worm combo. NDOW urges caution while ice fishing.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- There is open water at Echo. Anglers have been catching bass near the edges of the ice with worms, spinners and other hardware fished slowly.
