FISHING REPORT

• LAKE MEAD -- Due to changing weather patterns, fishing has been slow, though some anglers have landed stripers and catfish in the Vegas Bay Arm around Government Wash. Cut baits such as anchovies, sardines and squid have been catching fish. Boulder Beach has been slow for shore anglers. In the Overton Arm, anglers have found some largemouth bass near Stewart's Point.

• LAKE MOHAVE -- Fishing at Willow Beach and downriver was slow last weekend. Anglers did weigh in two stripers at 16.5 and 23 pounds. The weather also slowed the fishing at Cottonwood Cove.

The best time to fish is in the morning, before the winds pick up. Anglers trolling with anchovies, sardines and squid continue to catch stripers in the 2- to 6-pound range, and catfish and smaller stripers have been caught while still-fishing. Largemouth and smallmouth bass have taken top-water and shallow-diving lures.

• LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Anglers still are catching trout at the urban ponds. Catfish will be stocked today.

• KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- As with other destinations, passing weather fronts have hampered success. Anglers continue to catch trout using PowerBait, lures and flies.

• EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Fishing should improve with the recent trout plants totaling more than 3,200 fish. Anglers have been catching fish on worms and PowerBait.

• ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Fishing has been fair for trout off the dam using PowerBait. Largemouth anglers reported catching fish around structures in the reservoir.
