FISHING REPORT

LAKE MEAD -- Stripers have been chasing the shad that are spawning in the shallows around the Vegas Wash arm. With lures catching only a few stripers, baits of choice continue to be cut anchovies, sardines and squid.

Anglers have been successful near Echo Bay and Stewart's Point.

Boulder Beach and Hemenway have been slow.

LAKE MOHAVE -- Fishing for trout at Willow Beach has been slow to fair. Most fish moved into deeper water. Striper action also has been slow, with only a few fish between 4 and 8 pounds being caught near the picnic area and down river.

Cottonwood Cove has been slow, with only a few stripers caught on cut baits during the morning and evening hours. Largemouth bass have been hitting spinners and crank baits. Expect to find increased traffic near the launch ramp and on the water.

URBAN PONDS -- Anglers have been catching catfish at all ponds. Baits of choice include night crawlers, shrimp and chicken liver. Bass and panfish also are biting.

KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- With the warm weather, bass fishing has picked up, but trout fishing has slowed.

PowerBait seems to be the bait of choice for trout, with minimal success on flies and lures.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing was good in the past week for planters on PowerBait, worms, lures and flies.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Rainbow trout are hitting on PowerBait, worms and flies. Bass anglers are finding fish in the weeds and near other structures. White-black or white-brown colored buggers are producing good-sized crappie.
