FISHING REPORT
• LAKE MEAD -- Anglers fishing in the Vegas Wash arm have found success with cut baits such as anchovies, sardines and squid. Action is slow in the Boulder Beach area. Bluegill and crappie anglers are catching fish near Echo Bay and Stewart's Point.
• LAKE MOHAVE -- Trout fishing has been slow at Willow Beach with minimal success on PowerBait near Jumbo Wash. Striper fishing downriver has slowed, though a 6-pound striper took a BZZ lure last weekend. Anglers participating in an American Bass tournament reported good largemouth and smallmouth fishing all over the lake with top-water and shallow-diving lures. Stripers and catfish in the 2- to 5-pound class are biting on a variety of cut baits -- anchovies, sardines and squid.
• URBAN PONDS -- Bluegill and trout were hitting on mealworms at Floyd Park last weekend. Sunfish and bass should become more active in Clark County ponds.
• KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Trout fishing has been good. Anglers using PowerBait, lures and flies are catching fish.
• EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Tiger trout have been hitting lures, and rainbow trout have been biting on PowerBait.
• ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing continues to be good around the lake with the dam being the most popular fishing area. Crappie have been biting on brown and white Woolly Buggers and crappie jigs. Bass fishing continues to improve as temperatures rise.
