FISHING REPORT

LAKE MEAD -- Shad have been seen in the shallows, with stripers not far behind. The Vegas Wash arm continues to produce stripers and catfish with baits such as cut anchovies, sardines and squid.

Anglers are finding success at Stewart's Cove for a variety of fish, including stripers, large and smallmouth bass, bluegills and crappie.

LAKE MOHAVE -- Trout fishing at Willow Beach picked up last weekend along the fishing pier, picnic area and Jumbo Wash area. Anglers were using PowerBait and small lures. Anglers also reported success for stripers in the 2- to 4-pound range from the pier.

Success at Cottonwood Cove dropped as temperatures rose. Only a few stripers and catfish were caught on cut baits during the morning and evening hours. Fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass was slow.

URBAN PONDS -- With temperatures rising, trout fishing is slowing. But catfish, bass and sunfish are being caught on worms, lures and flies.

KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Trout have been biting PowerBait, lures and flies in all the reservoirs. Bass anglers are finding fish in the weed beds near shore.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Anglers have been using bobbers with their baits suspended above the weeds near the bottom. Stocked rainbow trout are the main catch, with a few reports of browns and tigers.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Fishing for trout has been good on PowerBait, flies and lures. Anglers using white-black or white-brown colored buggers are producing good-sized crappie. Bass anglers are finding fish in the weeds.
