FISHING REPORT

LAKE MEAD -- Stripers are being caught in the Vegas Arm from Crawdad Cove to Government Wash.

Action for striped bass elsewhere has slowed, though shad are present in all areas. Live shad is the top bait choice. Remember, if you catch your own shad, a legal net can have no larger than a 3-foot radius.

Trolling continues to be the choice for striper fishing. Artificial lures and frozen bait such as anchovies also are productive from the shore for stripers.

Trout fishing was slow following last week's plant at each of the plant locations.

LAKE MOHAVE -- Success at Willow Beach has steadily declined following the suspension of trout stocking by the Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery.

Fishing has been fair to good at Cottonwood Cove, with stripers being reported in the 2- to 8-pound range. Trolling with anchovies, sardines or artificial baits has been catching striped bass.

LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- The Nevada Department of Wildlife stocked Tuesday, just in time for the new year.

KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- The reservoirs are covered with thin ice. Conditions are unsafe.

EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- The reservoir is covered with thin ice. Conditions are unsafe.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- The reservoir is covered with ice. Conditions are unsafe.
