FISHING REPORT
• LAKE MEAD -- Stripers have been biting on anchovies fished deep in the Las Vegas Wash area, and schools of fish also have been viewed close to shore. Few anglers are catching stripers off the shore and dock at Boulder Harbor. Largemouth and smallmouth bass should be on spawning beds soon. The last trout plant this spring will be Friday.
• LAKE MOHAVE -- Trout fishing has been good at Willow Beach for anglers using PowerBait. Anglers using AC Plugs have pulled in a few large stripers down the river.
Fishing at Cottonwood Cove for shore and boating anglers has been good for stripers between 2 and 6 pounds. The preferred methods are trolling and still-fishing with cut anchovies, sardines or squid.
Catfish between 2 and 5 pounds have been caught using cut bait and prepared stink baits. Largemouth and smallmouth bass have been hitting top-water and shallow-diving lures.
• LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Trout anglers have been catching fish using Power Bait, small lures and flies. Tuesday marked the last trout stocking for the season. Lorenzi received no fish because of high water temperatures.
• KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Fishing has been fair for shore anglers and good for boat anglers, with last fall's planters averaging 14 inches. The Nevada Department of Wildlife stocked trout in Haymeadow and Cold Springs within the past week. Roads are in good condition.
• EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing has been fair to good using worms and PowerBait. Several anglers caught their limit last weekend.
• ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Successful anglers have been catching rainbow trout while fishing from the dam.
