FISHING REPORT

■ LAKE MEAD -- The nighttime bite has been good for striped bass. One lucky angler boated 110 stripers and a couple of catfish during an overnight foray. He was jigging a lure under lights in about 40 feet of water. Anglers have seen striper boils throughout the Boulder Basin and have had top-water success. The most productive area has been near the Vegas Wash. Fish also are hitting near Callville Bay and Temple Bar.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Anglers fishing at night are having success with striped bass, even from the shoreline. Boaters slow-trolling with large swim baits or AC Plugs are catching stripers as far south as Monkey Hole. Catfish and bluegill can be found in the shallow water in coves. Look for bluegill and bass near artificial habitat structures that fisheries biologists have placed in Carp Cove, Box Cove, Shoshone and Arrowhead.

■ LAUGHLIN -- Anglers have found slow to fair striped bass fishing in the Colorado River below Davis Dam and south toward the Avi.

■ URBAN PONDS -- The action remains slow, though anglers are catching a few catfish, bluegill and largemouth bass at Floyd Lamb Park. Shoreline access is limited at Sunset Park due to construction activity. The legal limit for these waters is three fish.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Largemouth bass fishing is good. Anglers are catching bucketmouths with spinners and plastic baits. Top-water action can be found in the evening. Weedy conditions and warm temperatures are making things difficult for trout fishermen.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Early mornings and evenings are the best time to fish this Lincoln County Reservoir. Weedy conditions present a challenge to anglers along the shoreline. Rainbow trout are biting on PowerBait, night crawlers and Woolly Buggers.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- The water level is seasonably low; however, anglers are experiencing fair to good fishing for stocked rainbows and crappie. Anglers are finding the fish along the dam and south shoreline. PowerBait and night crawlers with mini-marshmallows are catching trout. Brightly colored jigs are taking crappie. Fishing for largemouth bass is slow, but small fish can be found along the emerging islands.
