FISHING REPORT

■ LAKE MEAD -- Striper action remains slow but has shown signs of picking up in the Overton Arm. Fish in the Echo Bay area are averaging about 3 pounds. Cut anchovies and sardines fished near the bottom are catching fish. Smallmouth and largemouth bass have moved up in the shallows to spawn and are being caught.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Willow Beach striper action has been good, with anglers reeling in several double-digit fish. Alan Cole, inventor of the AC Plug, hauled in a 30-pounder. The largemouth and smallmouth bass bite has been excellent the past couple of weeks for anglers working the Cottonwood Cove area.

■ LAUGHLIN -- Anglers still are catching a few stocked rainbow trout and even some larger fish. With temperatures climbing, anglers should see improved action for striped bass and a variety of panfish.

■ URBAN PONDS -- Weekly trout plants have ceased for the season, but anglers continue to catch the occasional rainbow trout. Most of the action has been at Floyd Lamb Park, but fish also can be found at Sunset Park and Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City. Largemouth bass and bluegill should begin taking baits at Floyd Lamb as the temperatures continue to warm. Limit is three fish.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Anglers are finding action for rainbow trout. PowerBait and night crawlers are catching fish. Bass fishing is slow, but the action should improve as the water temperature rises.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Anglers are finding fair action for rainbow trout. Fish have been biting on PowerBait, night crawlers and a combination of night crawlers and mini-marshmallows. Limit is five trout.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- The Nevada Department of Wildlife recently released more than 13,000 planter rainbows, and that has resulted in good fishing. Fish are hitting PowerBait, night crawlers and mini-marshmallows. Sometimes a combination of a mini-marshmallow and a night crawler works as well. Largemouth bass and crappie have yet to become active.
