■ LAKE MEAD -- Fishermen are finding striper boils throughout Vegas Wash arm and along the beaches between Hemenway and Swim Beach. The fish are hitting top-water lures and jigs. Shore anglers and boating anglers are also catching stripers and catfish near 33 Hole with cut anchovies. Night fishing with a light is producing stripers and catfish. Anglers also report fair fishing for stripers in the Temple Bar area.
■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Anglers are using PowerBait, worms and Super Dupers to catch trout at Willow Beach. An AC Plug helped one lucky angler land two stripers weighing 15 and 16 pounds. Fishing at Cottonwood Cove has been fair for bluegill and catfish while using cut anchovies and worms. Night fishing has produced some good catfish, but action for striped and largemouth bass has been slow.
■ LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Hot weather has been keeping anglers away. Anglers who have been braving the heat are landing only a few catfish and bluegill while using mealworms and night crawlers.
■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Bass fishing remains good, with fish taking a variety of hardware and plastics. A few larger bass are showing up at Dacey, though fishing here is more challenging. Trout fishing is slow but should begin to improve as fall temperatures roll in.
■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Fishing has picked up with the arrival of cooler weather. Weed growth is making shore fishing difficult. Anglers are catching rainbow trout on PowerBait, and browns and tigers are hitting night crawlers.
■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Despite the low water level, fishing is fair to good. Anglers are catching rainbow trout with PowerBait and flies. Crappie fishing has been good for anglers using gitzits and small plastic worms. Bass are hitting around the weed beds.
