Fishing Report

■ LAKE MEAD -- Anglers are targeting striper boils using shad imitating top-water and shallow-diving lures. Action has been mixed, though the Vegas Wash arm has been productive for boating anglers and fair for shore anglers. Night fishing under lights has produced for anglers still-fishing with cut anchovies or sardines. For catfish, go to the bottom with commercial stink baits, night crawlers or shrimp.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Small lures, PowerBait and salmon eggs are catching trout at Willow Beach. The federal hatchery plants fish each Friday. Fishing action out of Cottonwood Cove remains fair to good. Most success has come to catfish anglers using prepared bait. Results have been mixed for bass. Trolling with cut anchovies has produced stripers.

■ LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Bluegill fishing has been fair.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Trout fishing has been fair using PowerBait off the dam of Haymeadow Reservoir. Weed growth and summer heat are making trout fishing difficult. Bass fishing has been good with top-water and shallow-diving lures at Dacey reservoir.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Anglers are catching their limits on PowerBait, worms, lures and flies. Fishing off the shore is a challenge. Use the dock or take a boat to avoid weeds.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing has been slow because of the heat and low water level. Bass fishing remains good near the shore, and crappie fishing has been considered fair.
