Fishing Report

■ LAKE MEAD -- Striper fishing is fair to good for anglers using lures or cut anchovies. Fish are boiling around the Vegas Wash. Catfish are biting cut anchovies and prepared homemade baits.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Small lures, PowerBait and salmon eggs are catching trout at Willow Beach. A few stripers weighing from 8 to 23 pounds were caught on the Colorado River last week. Striper fishing at Cottonwood Cove remains slow to fair using cut anchovies. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing is fair. Anglers are landing fish with shallow diving lures fished around the coves. Catfish continue to bite cut anchovies and prepared homemade baits in the early morning, late afternoon and early evening.

■ URBAN PONDS -- Hot weather continues to make fishing slow. Fishing should pick up after this week's catfish plant.

■ PAHRANAGAT WILDLIFE REFUGE -- Fishing should be fair for sunfish and bullhead catfish. Try using mealworms or night crawlers with a bobber at the upper marsh.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- Bass fishing remains good around the weed beds and other structures. The upper areas of the reservoirs are open. Trout fishing remains sluggish.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Fly-fishers have found fair action for rainbow trout. Anglers fishing off the dock are finding fair success with PowerBait and worms. Weeds are an issue for boaters.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Anglers will find good fishing for trout in the early morning and late afternoon. Crappie and bass are biting near weeds.
