Fredette helps No. 23 BYU top Utah State

PROVO, Utah -- Jimmer Fredette scored 26 points to lead No. 23 Brigham Young to a 78-72 win over Utah State on Wednesday night.

The Cougars (2-0) led 74-71 with 25 seconds left, and Noah Hartsock and Fredette each hit two free throws to put the game out of reach.

Tai Wesley scored 13 of his 19 points in the first half to lead the Aggies (1-1). He fouled out with 2:10 left. That foul was ruled intentional and put Chris Collinsworth on the line, where he converted both free throws to push the BYU lead to 74-69.

Fredette scored 12 of BYU's first 15 points.

■ Colorado College 60, Air Force 57 -- At Air Force Academy, Colo., Nick Rose scored 18 points and Brady Ohlsen 14 as the Tigers rallied to upset the Falcons (1-1) in overtime.

The Tigers (1-0), a Division III school, trailed 49-41 with 6:42 left in regulation before going on a 12-4 run to send the game into overtime tied at 53.

Tom Fow had 17 points and eight rebounds for Air Force before fouling out with 3:54 left in overtime.

■ Utah 80, Montana 71 -- At Salt Lake City, Will Clyburn scored 21 points and Josh Watkins 20 to lead the Utes (2-0) past the Grizzlies. Will Cherry led Montana (0-2) with 21 points.
