UNLV freshman Jamal Aytes has left the program seven games into the season.
Aytes, a 6-foot-6-inch, 230-pound forward from San Diego, played in four games, with averages of 9.3 minutes, 2.8 points and 0.8 rebounds.
“I have enjoyed my time at UNLV, but transferring gives me a better opportunity for playing time sooner in my career,” Aytes said.
Said Rebels coach Dave Rice, “We thank Jamal for his contributions and wish him the best in the future.”
Aytes, who attended JSerra Catholic High School, didn’t sign with UNLV until late in the summer.
