Freshman Leonard sparks Aztecs

SAN DIEGO -- Freshman Kawhi Leonard scored 26 points and led a second-half surge as San Diego State routed Wyoming 88-57 on Wednesday.

Leonard, who also had eight rebounds, helped the Aztecs (17-7, 6-4 Mountain West) pull ahead by 15 with a 10-0 spurt early in the second half. Leonard made 10 of 14 shots from the field.

Freshman Chase Tapley scored 14 points and Tyrone Shelley and Kelvin Davis 12 each for San Diego State.

Djibril Thiam scored 15 points to lead Wyoming (9-15, 2-8).

• Utah 64, Texas Christian 55 -- At Fort Worth, Texas, Marshall Henderson scored 24 points in 25 minutes, leading the Utes (11-12, 4-5) over the Horned Frogs (11-14, 3-7).

Henderson scored Utah's first eight points and had 14 in the first half. His 3-pointer with 6:46 left in the game put Utah ahead to stay, 46-43.

Nikola Cerina led TCU with 17 points.
