Garrett paces Findlay Prep to victory

Amir Garrett had 15 points and seven rebounds to lead the Findlay Prep basketball team to a 76-50 rout of Newark East Side (N.J.) on the final day of the Primetime Shootout in Union, N.J., on Sunday.

Garrett, a senior forward who has signed with St. John's, was named player of the game by tournament officials. Nigel Williams-Goss had 13 points for Findlay Prep, and teammates Anthony Bennett (12), Nick Johnson (10) and Landen Lucas (10) also scored in double figures.

The Pilots (25-3), who are ranked No. 7 in the nation by USA Today, jumped to a 19-5 first-quarter lead and never trailed.
