Gators slam No. 1 Sierra Vista
Kyle Konicek had a grand slam and an RBI double to help lead Green Valley's baseball team to an 8-1 road win over top-ranked Sierra Vista on Friday.
Jordan Van Hoosier added a triple and a double for the Gators, who turned five double plays.
• Spring Valley 10, Cimarron-Memorial 4 -- At Cimarron, Enzo Bello went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs and Billy Bob Ward and Cody Collins each added two hits as the Grizzlies beat the Spartans.
Cimarron's Andrew Braswell went 2-for-3.
• Las Vegas 8, Centennial 4 -- At Centennial, Alex Church was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to help lead the Wildcats over the Bulldogs.
• Faith Lutheran 14-5, Boulder City 5-2 -- At Boulder City, Dave Anderson and Tyler Iodence each had two hits and four RBIs in the first game to help the Crusaders to a doubleheader sweep.
Anderson added a two-run single in the second game to highlight Boulder City's three-run third inning.
• Calvary Chapel 13-11, Round Mountain 0-1 -- At Henderson International, Nick Kingham pitched a five-inning perfect game to help the Lions sweep the doubleheader.
Kingham struck out 13 in the first game. Cory Welch went 6-for-7 with three home runs, three doubles and seven RBIs in the doubleheader.
Welch homered three times in the second game and pitched a one-hitter.
• Laughlin 8-2, Beatty 1-1 -- At Laughlin, Eric Chez hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Cougars a win in the second game.
C.J. Minniear pitched a one-hitter with nine strikeouts to get the win in Game 1.
SOFTBALL
• Centennial 8, Las Vegas 5 -- At Centennial, Johnna Brown hit a three-run homer with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Bulldogs over the Wildcats.
Jenna Vaneykeren was 2-for-2 with three RBIs for Centennial.
• Mountain View 11-27, Round Mountain 1-6 -- At Mountain View, Randall Van Kempen had three hits and two RBIs in the second game as the Saints swept the Knights.
Valencia Casey won both games. She pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts in Game 1.
• Boulder City 4-5, Faith Lutheran 2-14 -- At Boulder City, the Eagles and Crusaders split a doubleheader.
Jalexys Hernandez had a two-run double in the first game to give Boulder City the lead for good.
In the second game, Becca Reighard was 2-for-3 with a triple, double, three RBIs and three runs to lead Faith Lutheran.
Caiti Forrester had two doubles and four RBIs in Game 2 for Boulder City.
