HEAD OF THE CLASS

■ ARBOR VIEW -- Softball player Karli Lehr went 4-for-4 with three RBIs in a 10-0 win over Cheyenne.

■ BONANZA -- Boys volleyball player Kellen Layne had five kills and four digs in a 2-1 win over Venice (Calif.) at the Las Vegas Invitational.

■ CENTENNIAL -- Boys golfer Alec Sailer moved to fifth in Northwest League individual standings. Girls track athlete Tiana Bonds won the 100-meter hurdles in 15 seconds and 300 hurdles in 47.34 and ran on the winning 800 relay team to lead the Bulldogs to the title at the Ron Resler Invitational in Boulder City.

■ CIMARRON-MEMORIAL -- Baseball player Josh Nuernberg threw a four-hitter with nine strikeouts in a 3-2 win over Arbor View, homered in an 18-4 victory over Palo Verde and had the go-ahead sacrifice fly in a 7-5 win over Centennial. Softball player Carli Stafford went 5-for-5 with four doubles and four RBIs in a win and tie against Westview (Ore.).

■ CLARK -- Boys track athlete Flimon Fre improved his 1,600-meter time to 5 minutes, 9 seconds. Girls track athlete Stephanie Davis has posted times of 13.34 seconds in the 100, 27.34 in the 200 and 18.18 in the 100 hurdles.

■ CORONADO -- Baseball player Miles Bice was 8-for-15 with six runs, four RBIs and one stolen base to help the Cougars go 3-1 over a four-game stretch.

■ FAITH LUTHERAN -- Boys swimmer Bowen Becker won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:15.75. Girls swimmer Caitlin Marks won the 100 freestyle in 57.68 against The Meadows.

■ GREEN VALLEY -- Boys swimmer Jackson Hawkins won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.97 seconds against Coronado. Softball player Anysa Calderon went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in an 8-7 win over Shadow Ridge.

■ RANCHO -- Boys track athlete Charles Johnson took second in the 200 meters, fifth in the triple jump and ninth in the long jump in a Northeast League meet. Girls track athlete Miracle Blalark was fourth in the shot put in a Northeast meet.

■ SHADOW RIDGE -- Baseball player Ben Fitzhugh hit .545 with two doubles, two home runs and five RBIs in the Blazer Spring Bash tournament.

■ SILVERADO -- Baseball player Bryan Faucher went 6-for-13 with two home runs and pitched 5 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts and a save at the Lions Tournament in San Diego.
