HORSE RACING

Post Time 7:05 p.m.

Race 1 - 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, 2-year-olds

Moonlit Dream - FTS from the Walther Solis barn; stable is dangerous with debut babies, usually ready to fire.

Hector - Decent second in grinding debut; race wasn't all that impressive considering the fractions and final time.

Long Shot - Mandelieu

Race 2 - 6 furlongs, Purse $34,000, Claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds

Daylight Storm - His 3 career wins are the most in the field; we know what we're getting with Rafael Bejarano up.

Cardiff Storm - Red flag drop in class for a price tag even; big fall from the Santa Anita Derby last time out.

Long Shot - Good Brother

Race 3 - 6 furlongs (turf), Purse $41,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Arte Viva - Was meant to be a good one in England; been training forwardly for Ben Cecil, gets first time Lasix too.

Primed - Logical chalk disappointed badly as the chalk in last; the key will be if she reverts back to her debut form.

Long Shot - Love That Melody

Race 4 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $13,000, Claiming $8,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Wada Falls - Jeff Mullins barn remains productive despite his suspension; assistant Ral Ayers has done this before.

Ultra Awesome - Has been very productive since claimed by Tim Yakteen; more than capable of a repeat effort off a win.

Long Shot - Stroppy

Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Amina - Mike Mitchell barn has been smoking hot in Inglewood; main question is fitness off a 10-month hiatus.

Costa Marta - Good effort in last returning from a 8-month hiatus; has tactical speed to lead or follow close up.

Long Shot - Flashy Traveler

Race 6 - 7 1/2 furlongs, Purse $43,000, Allowance, Cal-breds, 3-year-olds and up

Holladay Road - Has improved a lot in 3 starts this year; like the turn back in distance for some late energy.

Scofield Barracks - Dead late closer looks like a poor man's Silky Sullivan; he doesn't get involved until very late.

Long Shot - J P Jammer

Race 7 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $44,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Americas Dreaming - Rarely got firm ground to run on back east; like the switch to John Sadler to take her to the next level.

Lady Francesca - Logical chalk ran well in her U.S. debut; flattered when Turning Top won her next time out.

Long Shot - Terrify

Race 8 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $15,600, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up

Dangerous Curves - If he draws in he'll be double tough; nearly won for at $25K price tag 2 races back.

The Whammer - Returns from a 7-month hiatus; Craig Dollase barn does well with layoff horses, watch the tote for clues.

Long Shot - Aeromon

Best Bet - Wada Falls (race 4)

Hollywood Park Thursday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/4/$21.60; Long Shots, 7/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/1/$2.80

Hollywood Park Totals - 403/115/$724.20; Long Shots, 198/18/$212.20; Best Bets, 24/13/$56.00

SIMULCAST PICK OF THE DAY - #8 Clean Shot (5/2) in race 6 at Arlington Park. For scoring purposes, we'll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total. On Wednesday, Pennington ran second at Belmont Park paying $4.00 to place and $3.00 to show. Stats - 98/70/$534.80
