Thunder and Ice - Tepid chalk has been away 17 months; returns at a reduced class and has a ton of early speed.

Long Shot - Carnival Queen

Race 2 - 5 furlongs, Purse $41,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 2-year-olds

Romanette - Bob Baffert has an uncoupled entry, expect one of them to win; this gal has multiple bullet workouts.

Royal Ancestry - No shock if she wins under stable rider Martin Garcia; if Martin had a choice, then this is it.

Long Shot - Wickedly Perfect

Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles (turf), Purse $49,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Ruffled Feathers - Very consistent grass runner fires every time; she has many open conditions because she's a Cal-bred.

Lilly Fa Pootz - Tepid favorite in a pretty interesting turf route; there's only 5 entered, but all can win it.

Long Shot - Oui Say Oui

Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Claiming $20,000, 3-year-olds

California Soldier - Hottest barn in SoCal has been Bill Morey; teams up with Rafael Bejarano on a short priced chalk.

Winter Camp - Speedball returns off a 4-month hiatus for a $20K price tag; sure to be overbet with fast back speed figures.

Long Shot - Swiss Arrogant

Race 5 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $55,000, Allowance, 4-year-olds and up

The Usual Q. T. - He is by far the best horse in the race; question is returning from a 3-month hiatus in purely a prep race.

Marlang - Don't underestimate this graded stakes winner; SoCal debut for the top Neil Drysdale barn, watch the tote board.

Long Shot - Dakota Phone

Race 6 - 7 furlongs, Purse $32,000, Claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds

Mr. Saturdaynight - Slid down the claiming ladder and found the right level; a repeat is well within his talents.

Precious Duke - Speedball may be dangerous if unattended on the lead; Felipe Valdez will play catch me if you can.

Long Shot - Circle Drive

Unzip Me - Favorite has a big negative with a parking lot post; has tons of speed to clear, turf sprint specialist.

Noble Court - Dead late closer has slowed a step, but still packs a powerful late kick; will be running on late.

Long Shot - Stoneside

Race 8 - 7 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up

Sufi Dancer - Sharp looking maiden claiming winner from red-hot Mike Mitchell; improving with a possible high ceiling.

The Whammer - Took 10 starts to graduate, but did it with style; went unclaimed for $25K, he has a load of conditions too.

Long Shot - Sammy's a Runnin'

Race 9 - 1 mile (turf), Purse $42,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Good Vibration - Ran fine in turf and route debut last out; also first time with blinkers on, can expect more improvement today.

Not Here - Like the favorite exiting a key race; stretches out and tries grass for the first time, yet a lot to like.
