TODAY AT SANTA ANITA PARK

Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds
Victory With Honor - Test drive in debut, expect a lot better tonight; pedigree suggests he should relish 2-turn routes.
Nextdoorneighbor - Logical chalk got a fast pace to close into last time; maybe today's slower pace will suit him better.
Long Shot - Ivory Fudge
Race 2 - 7 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Claiming $12,500, 4-year-olds
Cowboy Heart - Exits a sharp 2-turn grass win for Steve Miyadi; turns back in distance and an OK parking lot post.
Boo Too - Tepid chalk in a race full of class droppers; draw a line thru last and his prior races can win this.
Long Shot - Brave Justice
Race 3 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $44,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Sister Dawn - Among 5 FTS who all look like they have some talent; you have the edge of seeing the tote board action.
Win for M'lou - Fear here is one of the FTS will fire a rocket; ran too good to lose off a 7-month hiatus.
Long Shot - Bonnie Blue Flag
Race 4 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 8 feet), $60,000 Sweet Life, Fillies, 3-year-olds
Haggai - Been training great for this first try on turf; potential to be a nice 1-turn sprinter type.
Rose Catherine - Gets big time class relief for this modest spot; first time down the hill can always be an adventure.
Long Shot - Stockings
Race 5 - 1 mile, Purse $36,000, Claiming $40,000, 4-year-olds
Temerity - Logical chalk won a slow paced race last time; turns back in distance and the pace figures to be quicker.
My Man Sumo - Off slow in last and was left with way too much to do; has tactical speed to sit closer to the pace.
Long Shot - Brushburn
Race 6 - 7 furlongs, Purse $18,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds
Veecu - Logical chalk faces the slowest field of his life; Kristin Mulhall takes the blinkers off, should improve.
Warren's Princess - Cashed 3 paychecks in his well bet career; second start off a 2-month hiatus.
Long Shot - My Friend Bernie
Race 7 - 6 furlongs, Purse $19,000, Claiming $25,000, 4-year-olds and up
Boyoboy - Notice he began his career as a come from behind horse with a lot of success; expect a change of tactics tonight.
Fitzmo - Did a classic pop and stop in last; he figures to be the speed of the speed, catch him to win.
Long Shot - Spinning Sound
Race 8 - 1 1/4 miles (turf, rail at 8 feet), $150,000 Sam Marcos, 4-year-olds and up
Loup Breton - Logical chalk figures to take some beating; he's a grade 1 horse running in an ungraded stakes tonight.
Porfido - Hopefully the turf has dried enough to run this stakes; has knocked heads with good ones the last 2 years.
Long Shot - High Court Drama
Race 9 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 4-year-olds and up
Horowitz - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; has a big edge over these poor boys.
Oh Now - Big rider switch from bugboy to Tyler Baze; like the turn back in distance where he should be closing fast late.
Long Shot - Renzo Sean
Best Bet - Horowitz (race 9)
Santa Anita Saturday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 16/4/$18.20; Long Shots, 7/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/1/$4.40
Santa Anita Totals - 313/82/$531.40; Long Shots, 155/21/$215.00; Best Bets, 19/10/$44.80
SIMULCAST PICK OF THE DAY - #2 Shawnee Moon (7/2) in race 2 at Aqueduct. For scoring purposes, we'll make a hypothetical $2 win, place and show bet, $6 total. On Saturday, Rule By Night won at Aqueduct paying $4.60 to win, $3.30 to place, and $2.70 to show. Stats - 19/13/$89.60
