2 Moroccan Sky - Got a typical test drive in debut for John Shirreffs; no shock if he improve a lot here.

Long Shot - 5 War Element

Race 2 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 7 feet), Purse $35,000, Starter allowance $16,000, 3-year-olds and up

5 Lisa Lulu - Sprinter stretching out could provide lone early speed; that is the best bet in horse racing.

2 Powerofvoodoo - Hard to like a favorite who is 2-for-66 wins lifetime; still earns plenty of paychecks.

Long Shot - 7 Hot Citizen

Race 3 - 5 furlongs, Purse $34,000, Maiden claiming $50,000, Fillies, 2-year-olds

5 Punch Drunk - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; Peter Miller takes the blinkers off.

4 Big Girl - Another dropping in class from MSW to maiden claiming; from Hall of Fame maestro Jerry Hollendorfer.

Long Shot - 7 Ask Me Later

Race 4 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 7 feet), Purse $65,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

6 Chokecherymary - Leap of faith in class relief from stakes for this; weak favorite in a real scramble late.

8 Roxy - Liked her last race where a step improvement can upset these; big rider switch to Garrett Gomez.

Long Shot - 7 Taxi Ride

Race 5 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $27,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies, 3-year-olds

5 Tuesdays With P - Huge class drop from this recent Mike Mitchell claim; going for the win at any cost.

3 Winter Blossom - Pair of wins and continues to drop in class; red flag in most cases, but this is Del Mar.

Long Shot - 1 Roulette It Roll

9 Leaving in a Limo - Jeff Mullins barn is finally grinding out some wins at the meet; appears to be moving forward.

4 Awesome Brady - Tough trip early in last; his race two back is fast enough to earn a paycheck today.

Long Shot - 8 Expensive Pens

7 Buenas Dias - With all the early speed and the rail out 7 feet, I'm looking for a bomber to close fast late.

3 Leroy's Dynameaux - This is my other long shot bomb to come flying through the lane; Garrett Gomez on this one.

4 Small But Mighty - Claimed by Mike Mitchell and spotted for quick action; need not be much to beat these.

1 Warren's Swap Fox - Tepid favorite in a wide-open finale; hope you're spread if still alive in the pick 6.
