Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $49,000, Allowance, 3-year-olds and up
Liberian Freighter - Gets class relief from a series of stakes for this; still eligible for condition despite 3 wins.
Medici Code - Returns from a 8-month hiatus; he's a classy sort, but this is just a prep for bigger fish down the road.
Long Shot - Man To Man
Race 2 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $40,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Catsalot - FTS from trainer Doug O'Neill barn; been training fast and the capper is he hires main man Garrett Gomez.
Perfect Magic - Logical chalk ran a fine debut second at 14/1 odds; key is the rider switch to Rafael Bejarano.
Long Shot - Wilma Rules
Race 3 - 1 1/16th miles, $100,000 Sharp Cat, Fillies, 2-year-olds
Toro Bonito - Bob Baffert has an uncoupled entry, expect one of them to win; saves ground and should sit up close.
Ten Churros - The likely speed will carry a target on her back; despite only 5 horses this is a rugged test.
Long Shot - Oro Blanco
Race 4 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $34,000, Claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds
Professnl Courtesy - Takes a small, but important, class drop for this; saves all the ground and grinds late.
Searchforthetruth - Tepid chalk in an open race; has tactical speed, NoCal import is strictly the one to beat.
Long Shot - Nene
Race 5 - 6 furlongs, Purse $42,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 2-year-olds
Babs Moossa - Failed in his first 2-turn stakes; appears better suited as a late closing sprinter, Gomez up.
E M Squared - Looked good in debut winning on turf down the hillside turf course; pedigree to keep getting better.
Long Shot - Trainspotting
Race 6 - 5 1/2 furlongs, Purse $24,000, Starter allowance $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Michael's Notes - Draw a line thru his bad race down the hillside turf course; his resume looks a lot better then.
Cajun Corredor - I don't typically like recent graduates, but this is a slowpoke field; slight improvement possible.
Long Shot - Friendly Half
Race 7 - 7 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Golden Venture - Had some trouble at a key moment of the stretch; lots of back class to win from memory.
Ella Enchanted - Parking lot post is fine in this elongated sprint; time for Arambula to tuck in nicely.
Long Shot - Friendly Mystery
Race 8 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 10 feet), Purse $40,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
Mr. Rod - Outran his odds when second in the Barretts Juvenile; Chantal Sutherland puts on a sleeper hold.
Unbridled Story - Beaten favorite in debut gave a good account of himself; Joe Talamo likes to take back.
Long Shot - Licoricewhip
Race 9 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $46,000, Optional claiming $62,500, 3-year-olds and up
Secret Shuttle - Like the turn back in distance and adding blinkers on; clever spot from Paddy Gallagher.
Exceeding - Tepid chalk in a wide open race; he ran very well in the Cal Cup, but this is just as tough.
Long Shot - Owners Manual
Race 10 - 6 furlongs, Purse $13,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Kearns Prints -Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; Talamo may need to push early.
Motorboat - Good try off a 2-month hiatus; appears better suited coming from off the pace, Espinoza takes over.
Long Shot - Zaruba
Best Bet - Toro Bonito (race 3)
Hollywood Friday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 16/5/$26.80; Long Shots, 8/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/1/$3.00
