Lifeline - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; no shame losing to The Pamplemousse.
Nascar Johnny - Claimed by Caesar Dominguez two races ago and showed quick improvement; big class drop today.
Long Shot - J B Wine
Race 2 - 1 1/8th miles (turf), Purse $52,000, Allowance, 3-year-olds and up
Oceanography - Rafael Bejarano had choices and sticks with Bobby Frankel; has eastern back class for this.
Cavanal - Just broke his MSW and loses his rider to Oceanography; spirited win and picks up Edgar Prado.
Long Shot - Yankee Bay
Race 3 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds
Infernal - Perfect test drive in debut with a fast closing fourth; second time out will be much sharper.
Tevez the Tiger - Nosed out in last to a good Richard Mandella colt Position A; tough with a repeat try.
Long Shot - Point Encounter
Race 4 - 6 1/2 furlongs (turf), Purse $33,000, Claiming $40,000, 3-year-olds and up
Exceeding - Tough foe should he draw in off the also eligible list; I like parking lot posts down the hill.
Devoted Magic - Claimed by the maestro Jerry Hollendorfer; showed he can close in a very unpredictable race.
Long Shot - Railroad
Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $25,000, Claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Spot the Diplomat - Big rider switch to Garrett Gomez for the money shot; plenty of speed to set him up.
Men Only - Like the turn back in distance for this elongated sprint; sliding down the class ladder for this.
Long Shot - Stand Tall
Race 6 - 7 furlongs, $125,000, California Breeders' Champion, Cal-breds, 2-year-olds
Lordgivemealift - Breakthrough race, key is if he can repeat it; when Jeff Mullins gets them good, they stay good.
Feisty Suances - Hard to ignore a colt unbeaten in 3 starts; this stakes, by far, will be his toughest test.
Long Shot - Inbridled Roman
Race 7 - 1 mile (turf), $100,000 Sir Beaufort, 3-year-olds
Gio Ponti - Horror trip in last or he would have won the Hollywood Derby; unlucky trip happen more on grass.
Liberian Freighter - Speedy sort can save all the ground if he leaves; last win was a walk in the park.
Long Shot - Fifteen Love
Race 8 - 7 furlongs, $250,000 Malibu, 3-year-olds
Colonel John - Been away 2-months since the BC Classic; proven to love synthetic surfaces, will be flying late.
Into Mischief - Highly regarded colt came out firing in last off a 8-month hiatus; may be forced to leave early.
Long Shot - Golden Spikes
Race 9 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Squire Trelawny - Second best last time in an honest effort; like that Bejarano remains loyal to the cause.
Kinky Rule - Speedy sort taking a drop to this bottom class level; speeds off and play catch me if you can.
