HORSE RACING
TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK
By Richard Eng
Post Time 12:30 p.m.
Race 1 - 6 furlongs, Purse $36,000, Maiden special weights, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Ms. Olympio - Game run last time when second for Rafael Bejarano; repeat of that is enough to graduate here.
Kulinski Rose - Did a classic pop and stop in last; not much talent today, plays catch me if you can.
Long Shot - Speedski
Race 2 - 1 mile (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $39,000, Optional claiming $25,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Paloma's Flight - Should see a sprightly pace to do her best; a Bejarano daily double would be no shock.
Filter - Speedball should relish the turf rail out 15 feet; has yet to run or win around 2-turns.
Long Shot - Lupita'sluckyangel
Race 3 - 6 furlongs, Purse $9,000, Claiming $10,000, 3-year-olds and up
Flip the Penny - Bill Spawr cull is in rare form; third start off a 6-month hiatus could be another win.
Wineshine - Finally found a soft NW2L condition to win in last; don't kid yourself, this is much tougher.
Long Shot - Kingdom Come
Race 4 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $27,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Mark Set Go - Was overmatched in allowance class last time; back with his own kind and should improve.
Forest Miss - Tepid chalk in a wide open race; sure to be way overbet due to Bejarano in the saddle.
Long Shot - Bright Moon
Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $62,500, 2-year-olds
Omega Minister - Showed sharp improvement in last first time for a price tag; tough in third career start.
Uncle Jeep - Chalk facing a bevy of class droppers to fear on face value; Mike Mitchell adds blinkers on.
Long Shot - Good Newsman
Race 6 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $25,000, Claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Foxy Games - Speed could dominate with the turf rail out 15 feet; Aaron Gryder plays catch me if you can.
The King's Lass - Bejarano must keep an eye on Foxy Games while carving out a trip; can save some ground.
Long Shot - Tanzanite
Race 7 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $43,000, Optional claiming $62,500, 3-year-olds and up
Informed - Found the a fast paced elongated sprint in last too much; will like the softer route pace today.
Limestone Edge - Classy 3-YO has been away since the Lone Star Derby in May; sure looks like he'll need one.
Long Shot - Time to Get Even
Race 8 - 6 furlongs, Purse $12,000, Maiden claiming $25,000, 3-year-olds and up
Warren's Yodeler - If things work out for Bejarano, he could win 3 or 4 today; wide post helped by 5-scratches.
Cubs Molina - Wilted last time going 2-turns for the first time; turns back in distance and should improve.
Long Shot - Outlaw Yodeler
Best Bet - Ms. Olympio (race 1)
