HORSE RACING

TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

By Richard Eng

Post Time 1:20 p.m.

Race 1 - 7 1/2 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Claiming $12,500, 3-year-olds and up

Siberzar - Prefer the parking lot post in an elongated sprint; tactical speed to sit a trip, Tyler Baze had a day yesterday.

Romance Is Zenon - Dead late closer from the Mitchell barn is being dropped in class; bad rail post in this elongated sprint.

Long Shot - Outside Looking In

Race 2 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $19,000, Maiden claiming $32,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Sheza Maneater - Speedy sort should be able to clear the field early; big class drop from Baffert, plays catch me if you can.

Speed Passport - Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; Aguirre adding blinkers on and Talamo.

Long Shot - Party Punch

Race 3 - 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $39,000, Claiming $50,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up

Tanzanite - Claimed by Rafael Becerra after a weak performance; her race two back, if repeated, is fast enough to beat these.

Exclusive Danielle - Speedball should be aided by the turf rail out 20 feet; Aaron Gryder is great at nursing early speed.

Long Shot - Sports Edition

Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $15,000, Claiming $12,500, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Sting'n Inthe Rain - Solid class drop from the Mitchell barn can only help; first chance for her to run over her home base.

Kilmartin Hall - Excellent speed effort last time going down the hillside turf course; she too is facing an easier task here.

Long Shot - Lucky Mama

Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $30,000, Maiden claiming $80,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Threat - Claimed by Rafael Becerra off a good debut 4-months ago; favorite adds blinkers on and Mike Smith remains loyal.

Ornamental Torch - Much improved effort last time off a lengthy 14-month sabbatical; should sit a cozy close up trip.

Long Shot - Stylin Deputy

Race 6 - 7 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $16,000, 4-year-olds and up

Held Up - Sharp win first off the claim for Gary Stute; it was his first try over Hollywood Cushion track, may love the stuff.

He's the Rage - Logical chalk has a lot of back class and plenty of early speed; like the parking lot post at 7-furlongs.

Long Shot - Storm Machine

Race 7 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 20 feet), Purse $51,000, Optional claiming $80,000, Fillies, 3-year-olds

Wickednwackyingrid - Has a huge class edge today; three of these just graduated and are facing winners for the first time.

Masterful Miss - Tyler Baze is riding great and still under the radar; he can sit a perfect trip clocking the early speed.

Long Shot - Remember Seattle

Race 8 - 4 1/2 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Maiden special weights, 2-year-olds

Seismometer - Won last time, but was an unlucky DQ; barn switch to Tim Yakteen, but this is OPT, Other Person's Training.

The Final Roar - About time for the Peter Miller barn to wake up; he was red hot at this point last year, quiet so far.

Long Shot - Crude Oil

Best Bet - Wickednwackyingrid (race 7)

Hollywood Wednesday - Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 15/3/$21.00; Long Shots, 7/0/$0; Best Bet, 1/1/$3.60

Hollywood Totals - 346/89/$591.60; Long Shots, 175/13/$122.00; Best Bets, 19/10/$42.40
