TODAY AT HOLLYWOOD PARK

Post Time 1:20 p.m.
Race 1 - 1 1/16th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $39,000, Claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds
Working Man Blues - Tough opener signified by the fact a maiden has a big shot in here; Bejarano and Mitchell, say no more.
Reel Prime - Weak effort last time masks a good turf try two races ago; offers some hidden value at 4/1 in a small field.
Long Shot - Come in Almighty
Race 2 - 1 1/8th miles, $75,000 Alydar, 3-year-olds
Madeo - If this isn't a stakes horse, then I don't know what I'm looking at; suspect he'll be a lot shorter odds than 8/5.
Bingham - Appears overmatched on paper invading from Turf Paradise; when Jeff Mullins takes over the training, be wary.
Long Shot - Harlene
Race 3 - 1 1/8th miles (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $53,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Ransom Captive - Did everything but win last time in a solid effort; like that Michael Baze exits others to ride the chalk.
Lemonette - Rafael Bejarano takes over on this strong contender for the aforementioned Baze; who knows where her ceiling is.
Long Shot - Marvelous Marcia
Race 4 - 6 furlongs, Purse $11,000, Claiming $8,000, 4-year-olds and up
Caddymaster - I like NoCal shippers when Bob Hess, Sr. sends to Bob Hess, Jr.; you know full well these horses are ready to fire.
Currency Trader - This is strictly a pick for forgiving handicappers; draw a line thru last and his previous races look good.
Long Shot - Candy's Bro
Race 5 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $48,000, Maiden special weights, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Indian Way - You'll have a big edge over me in that you can watch the tote; mix of good looking babies are hard to separate.
Vixiana - John Shirreffs barn usually wakes up at Hollywood, his home base; though he bashes Cushion track, his horses like it.
Long Shot - Empire Baby
Race 6 - 6 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Claiming $25,000, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Chicks Rule - Doug O'Neill seems to have the field surrounded with his uncoupled entry; Bejarano chose to ride this filly.
Themis Valentine - The other O'Neill is favored in the morning line, but the jockey has spoken; don't expect them to duel.
Long Shot - Frangipanni
Race 7 - 1 1/16th miles, Purse $50,000, Maiden special weights, 3-year-olds and up
Waveland Avenue - He has had one trouble trip after another; stretch out around 2-turns may give him enough room to maneuver.
Ksar Ghilane - Speedball set a fast pace and gave it up late in a sprint; Bobby Frankel stretches him out, slower paced race.
Long Shot - Anatolian Gold
Race 8 - 6 furlongs (turf, rail at 15 feet), Purse $51,000, Allowance, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Lochinvar's Gold - Chance to upset off a good turf debut last time; tactical speed and Joel Rosario to sit a perfect trip.
Supposition - Logical chalk is turning back in distance for this softer spot; key is she's been away 7-months for Frankel.
Long Shot - Eva Beaver
Race 9 - 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $40,000, Cal-breds, Fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up
Princess Arjumand - Forgiving handicappers will draw a line thru the last race when eased; her $40k races are both competitive.
Dana Sisstar - Speedball figures to take these as fast and as far as she can; caveat is she's asked to go a little bit further.
Long Shot - Zanda Blue
Best Bet - Madeo (race 2)
Hollywood Thursday- Picks/Winners/Mutuels, 14/5/$31.20; Long Shots, 7/2/$18.80; Best Bet, 1/1/$3.80
Hollywood Totals - 360/94/$622.80; Long Shots, 182/15/$140.80; Best Bets, 20/11/$46.20
