Finally healthy, Pavlik returns to ring tonight against Espino
WBC and WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik will defend his titles tonight against Miguel Espino in Youngstown, Ohio.
Pavlik (35-1, 31 knockouts) hasn't fought since February, the longest layoff of his career. He finally has recovered from a severe staph infection on his left hand that left him hospitalized and forced him to cancel two fights against Paul Williams.
Espino (20-2-1, 9 KOs) is best known for his brief stint on the first season of the TV reality show "The Contender."
Pavlik has a decided physical advantage. At 6 feet 3 inches and 160 pounds, he measured in Friday 4 inches taller and a pound heavier than Espino. His 78-inch reach is also 6 inches longer than Espino's.
