Police now claiming Gatti's death a suicide
Boxer Arturo Gatti's death was ruled a suicide by police Thursday, and his wife, once suspected of killing the former champion, was released from jail.
Lead investigator Paulo Alberes said authorities decided Gatti killed himself July 11 while at a seaside resort in northeastern Brazil.
The boxer's widow, 23-year-old Amanda Rodrigues, said in a phone interview as she walked out of jail she thinks Gatti may have killed himself because he was afraid she was going to leave him after the pair had a violent disagreement in public the night before his death.
"We had an argument in the street. Then he pushed me and I hurt myself. I believe when we got home and he saw that he hurt me, he thought I would leave him, that I would tell him to just let me go, that I would separate from him," Rodrigues said. "He did that in a moment of weakness. He was drunk, maybe he didn't know what he was doing, maybe he thought I would leave him the next day."
Also: Atlanta police released video they hope will help them find as many as four suspects involved in the robbery and killing of former boxing champion Vernon Forrest.
Police have video from cameras positioned at three locations near Saturday night's robbery and shooting.
Lt. Keith Meadows said police think "at least three, and possibly four" people were involved.
Meadows said the video produces an image of the suspected robber, but not the man who shot the 38-year-old Forrest multiple times in his back less than three minutes later. Meadows said the robber took Forrest's championship ring and Rolex watch.
Former heavyweight champion Sultan Ibragimov has decided to retire, more than a year after losing his title in a one-sided decision to Wladimir Klitschko.

Serena advances at Bank of West Classic
With Serena and Venus Williams reaching the quarterfinals of the $700,000 Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, Calif., Serbia's Jelena Jankovic might have felt a bit overlooked and left out.
Jankovic, seeded fourth and ranked No. 6, joined the Williams sisters with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Sabine Lisicki.
Wimbledon champion Serena Williams advanced after beating Hungary's Melinda Czink 6-3, 7-6 (7), and Venus Williams got by qualifier Alla Kudryavseva, 6-3, 7-5, setting up a showdown with former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova, who continues her comeback from right shoulder surgery.
Eighth-seeded Marion Bartoli of France advanced with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over qualifier Melanie Oudin and will meet Jankovic.
"There should be a lot of good tennis," Bartoli said. "I always beat Jankovic, so who do you think I want to play?"
Jankovic answered back.
"She talks like she's Serena Williams," Jankovic said. "Who is she? She's just another player on the tour."
Also: Top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko eased into the Croatia Open quarterfinals in Umag, Croatia, by beating Alberto Martin of Spain, 6-2, 6-3.
Sam Querrey advanced to the quarterfinals of a tournament for the third straight week by beating Ryan Sweeting 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-3 in the second round of the LA Tennis Open.

Skateboarder Brown scores X Games gold
Jake Brown finally has something else to talk about.
The skateboarder whose grisly, 40-foot fall to the floor of the X Games mega ramp two years ago became a viral video sensation won gold in the same Skateboard Big Air competition at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Brown's 2007 spill knocked him unconscious and left him with a broken wrist, a cracked vertebra and a bruised lung.
It was six months before he got back on a skateboard, but when asked how long it took him to get his confidence back, Brown said "probably about a day."
Also: Steve Spurrier has another regret over his All-Southeastern Conference ballot -- that he took his omission of Florida's Tim Tebow from the first team so seriously.
The South Carolina coach said he made too big a deal of not voting for the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback. He detailed how he let director of football operations Jamie Speronis fill out the ballot, then only gave it a quick glance before signing off.
Spurrier called Tebow to apologize and got the SEC to change his selection.
Phoenix Coyotes owner Jerry Moyes has challenged Jerry Reinsdorf's bid to buy the financially troubled hockey team.
In a motion filed in bankruptcy court, Moyes' attorney said Reinsdorf's bid "cannot be approved as a matter of law," and "there are no qualified bidders" based on terms set by the court.

ESPN reporter Eric Andrews, who was surreptitiously videotaped nude in a hotel room, expressed frustration at being "treated like Britney Spears" when she called 911 to report paparazzi outside her Atlanta area home.
In an audiotape released Wednesday, Andrews is heard speaking with a 911 operator in suburban DeKalb County on July 22 to complain about two people parked in a car outside her home in a gated community.
Clearly frustrated, Andrews uses expletives to describe the two men whom she says also knocked on her door.
"I did nothing wrong, and I am being treated like (expletive) Britney Spears, and it sucks," Andrews told the operator.
