Devils goalie Brodeur hits shutout milestone

Martin Brodeur earned his 100th NHL regular-season shutout with a 27-save effort, and the New Jersey Devils extended their lead in the Atlantic Division with a 3-0 victory over the second-place Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

The shutout was the second in three games since Brodeur returned Thursday from elbow surgery, and this one moved him within three of tying Terry Sawchuk's NHL record of 103. It was also Brodeur's 547th career victory, moving him within four of tying Patrick Roy's league record.

Also: Dallas Stars center Steve Ott was suspended indefinitely by the NHL after receiving a penalty for attempting to injure Anaheim's Travis Moen at the end of Saturday's game, which the Ducks won, 4-3.

The Wranglers (26-24-8) took a 2-0 lead in the first period but couldn't maintain it as their winless streak stretched to 10 games (0-6-4) with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Bakersfield Condors in the ECHL at Bakersfield, Calif.

American Vonn claims another World Cup win

Lindsey Vonn won her fourth straight super-G race and promised to chase more trophies on the women's World Cup circuit after a successful stop in Bulgaria.

"There is no conservative skiing for me," the 24-year-old American said. "I have to be really aggressive -- that's my strategy."

After three races in Bansko, Bulgaria, the defending overall World Cup champion widened her lead in the standings to nearly 400 points, a day after wrapping up the downhill title.

On Sunday, Vonn won the super-G in 1 minute, 14.49 seconds.

Also: Steven Holcomb took his sled to the top of the podium at the bobsled world championships in Lake Placid, N.Y., ending a 50-year drought for the U.S. men's team.
