Roddick, Serena, Venus advance in Key Biscayne

Andy Roddick reached the fourth round of the Sony Ericsson Open by defeating Dmitry Tursunov 7-6 (9), 6-2 Sunday in Key Biscayne, Fla.

His 25th victory this year -- most on the ATP Tour -- didn't come easily. The fifth-seeded Roddick erased two set points in the tiebreaker, one with an ace and the second when Tursunov netted a forehand in a stressful 75-minute first set.

Qualifier Taylor Dent upset No. 15 Tommy Robredo 7-5, 6-3. Dent, ranked 467th, is mounting a comeback from a back injury that plagued him for three years, required two operations and left him in a body cast for months.

Dent, Roddick and the Williams sisters were the only Americans to reach the fourth round. No. 13 James Blake lost to No. 21 Tomas Berdych, 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-3.

Dent next plays No. 2 seed Roger Federer. Roddick's next opponent will be No. 9 Gael Monfils.

Top-ranked Serena Williams beat Peng Shuai 7-5, 6-2, and fifth-seeded Venus Williams defeated Anna-Lena Groenefeld, 7-5, 6-3.
